10th anniversary celebrations in Singapore

An historic educational milestone will be celebrated in Singapore this Friday 18 April when the and University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø commemorate their 10th anniversary as joint partners.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Dr Tony Tan will be a special guest at the formal dinner, which is expected to attract up to 200 guests, including the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, , the University's Chancellor, the and the President of Ngee Ann Kongsi, .
The celebratory dinner honours the achievements of the University's graduates from Singapore and the , and the vision of two of the oldest and most respected institutions in the Asia Pacific region: the Ngee Ann Kongsi and University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
A feature of the evening will be the launch of a Singapore ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Alumni Fund to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents, and are studying full time at the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
Championed by Dr Tony Tan, the fund will further strengthen the close bonds between Singapore and ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. The Ngee Ann Kongsi has generously agreed to match every dollar contributed up to SGD$250,000.
Established in 1874, the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is Australia's third oldest university and carries a five-star rating for prestige.
Currently ranked 62 in the world by the Times Higher Education Supplement, the University is associated with five Nobel Prize winners, 101 Rhodes Scholars and 103 Fulbright Scholars.
A number of high profile Singaporean identities are graduates of the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, including Dr Tan and the late Mr Ong Teng Cheong, the first elected President of the Republic of Singapore.
High Court judge Mr Justice Lee Sieu Kin, Singapore's Minister for Transport, Mr Raymond Lim, and the Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr S Iswaran, are also graduates of the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
