Professors Zaiping Guo and Shizhang Qiao from the University of vlog’s School of Chemical Engineering have been inducted as Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science in recognition of their ground-breaking research. Professor Guo has been recognised for her work improving the efficiency of batteries, and Professor Qiao for his research in functional materials for new energy technologies.
The Academy of Science has elected Professor Zaiping Guo for her pioneering contributions to the understanding of how electrode materials and electrolytes behave, leading to the development of more powerful, longer lasting, and safer rechargeable batteries for portable devices, electric vehicles, and smart grids.
“It is a great honour and a significant milestone in my career to have been elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science,” said Professor Guo, an Australian Research Council (ARC) Australian Laureate Fellow, whose research focuses on the design and application of electrode and electrolyte materials for energy storage and conversion.<
