Graduate Diploma in Materials Engineering
Accelerate industry’s material progress
Investment in the advanced materials market is expanding the world over—in the space industry, medical technologies, defence, manufacturing, energy, telecommunications and more. Engineering professionals able to drive materials innovation are in high demand.
What will you do?
Our Graduate Diploma of Materials Engineering will equip you with high-level knowledge at the real-world interface between materials engineering, chemistry and physics.
The industry-driven content is delivered over 12 months full-time, through a flexible blend of online and intensive face-to-face learning; and if you’re currently employed full-time and looking to upskill, you can make the study fit you by taking courses individually or combined as a graduate certificate.
You will:
- work in the University’s state-of-the-art engineering research labs
- have access to cutting-edge on-campus research and development facilities
- work alongside world-class materials engineering researchers—including from the University of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis, and the ARC Research Hub for Graphene Enabled Industry Transformation.
You’ll also be able to take courses in your chosen specialisation: Energy; Quantum; or Optical.
Where could it take you?
You might make school lunches planet-friendly by developing biodegradable cling film. You could help create light, strong and cost-effective shipping containers to reduce global freight costs and fuel consumption. Perhaps you’ll develop an on-site fertilizer producing unit from sunlight, air, and water for local farmers. You may even wish to continue your studies in the Master of Materials Engineering.
